Common Java-enabled browsers.1
Clipstream™ Video is encoding software that takes any common downloadable video format (.mpeg, .mov, .avi) and reencodes it into a streaming video format that is playable from any Java-enabled browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari among others) using a tiny applet. To your customers, the video plays from within the page without launching any players.

Three step process
Developing for Clipstream™ Video is a three step process. 1) You encode the video 2) You upload it to your server 3) You prepare your web page and publish it.

Clipstream™ Security
Anyone seeking to download, rehost or steal your bandwidth without your authorization is stopped by a further level of security called Clipstream™ SID. This is a separate authorization key used at the encoding level that you use to allow or disallow playback.

The Java environment
Clipstream™ relies on the Java™ cross-platform runtime, a piece of software installed on 96% of existing browsers today. This means that the vast majority of browsers are able to play Clipstream™. The remainder need only install the Java runtime, a two step process2.

1 Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Netscape browser logos copyright their respective manufacturers. 2 Java is the trademark of Sun Microsystems. Clipstream™ is a Sun Microsystems development partner.
