The Clipstream Video 3 Encoder uses a dynamic
bitrate codec that reduces file size while maintaining high fidelity when
needed.
Dynamic bit rate
Like Clipstream Video 2, the version 3
Encoder will
output several different bitrates targetted at the different bandwidths
viewers might have. In version 2, each bitrate file had a constant bitrate
meaning that it maintained the same fidelity regardless of the content.
Scenes that contained very little action still had the same bitrate as scenes
that contained high motion, detail and color.
In Clipstream Video 3 the Encoder reduces file size by dynamically
adjusting the bitrate based upon the type of content. A scene that has very
little motion, for example, will be encoded with a lower bitrate which then
is raised if the scene changes to one with action and more detail.
